(Audubon) The Audubon School District will offer early retirement this year.
Superintendent Eric Trager says the sooner they know what their needs for next year will be, the better off they are. “Obviously our preference would be that we didn’t lose anybody with the hiring climate the way it is, but in reality we know that we will have some turnover. Our rationale is we want that to happen early so we can be advertising for those positions early and get those hires made, so we are offering early retirement.”
The deadline is December 13th. The board this week also approved a new coaching position for Strength and Conditioning. “The though there being that all of our athletes would be under a single system for strength and conditioning and not be under one system for one sport and a different system for another sport. It also gives us some continuity and supervision of the weight room. We are happy to have that position and happy to support our athletic staff in doing that.”
In other activity, Heath Hansen and Sarah Asmus were given the Oath of Office as newly re-elected Audubon School Board Members this week. Asmus will serve as the Vice President and Mark Nissen returns as Board President.
