- Sidney is 24-15 while Tri-Center brings a 26-10 mark into the contest to be played at Lewis Central. Sidney has made five trips to Cedar Rapids. Tri-Center is a two time state qualifier.
- 33-3 Ankeny Christian has never been to state. 28-13 Gladbrook-Reinbeck seeks their 3th trip and is the defending runner-up. The match will be played in Marshalltown.
- Holy Trinity Catholic is 31-10. Lamoni is 29-4. Holy Trinity has been to state 13 times and had a string of ten straight trips snapped last year. They won it all in 2013. Lamoni has never been. Ottumwa is the host site.
- Western Christian is a 38 time state qualifier and 17 time state champ. This year they are 37-5. Treynor comes in with a record of 28-7. The Cardinals have been to state 15 times, most recently in 2018 when they lost in five sets to Western Christian in the first round. The teams get together at Bishop Heelan.
- 35-5 South Hardin made their first state tourney appearance last year. 23-12 ACGC hasn’t been to state in their current form, but Guthrie Center made it in 2013.
- Defending champion Dike-New Hartford comes in with a record of 50-1. They’ve gone to state 21 times with nine titles. Van Meter made their state debut last year. The match will be held in Marshalltown.
- 35-7 Denver is the defending runner-up. 26-10 Kuemper Catholic has 12 state appearances including the 2018 state championship. These teams match up at Webster City.
