- 35-6 DM Christian lost in five sets in the regional finals last year. 21-21 Nevada is a six time stat qualifier including most recently in 2019. They upset #12 Roland-Story last round. DM Christian posted a 2-1 win over Nevada at a tournament on September 4th. This match will be played at Dallas Center-Grimes.
- Lewis Central is a five time state qualifier and avenged a 2020 regional final loss to #10 Glenwood last round. 19-16 Bishop Heelan has made 23 trips to Cedar Rapids and they’ve won it all three times. Lewis Central topped Bishop Heelan in their lone regular season meeting by a score of 2-1. Lewis Central will host.
- 32-8 Urbandale is rated 6th. 17-24 Abraham Lincoln posted a dramatic five set upset of #8 Valley in the regional semi’s. The Jayhawks have gone to state seven times. Last year they lost in five sets in a regional final. The Lynx own 13 state appearances, most recently in 2019. Urbandale will host.
