(Atlantic) A recycled bench has been placed in Cedar Park in Atlantic as part of the Plastic Bags to Benches Program. This bench was donated by the Lions Club.
Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen said as of two weeks ago, the Elks Club reached their goal of 500 pounds and so they have picked a color for a bench and that bench should be here in the next four to five weeks.
Rasmussen explained that a minimum of 500 pounds of soft plastic must be collected for a free bench. The clean, dry, soft plastic can be dropped off at Hy-Vee or the Atlantic Parks and Recreation building on Sunnyside Lane.
