(Washington, DC) Congresswoman Cindy Axne’s bipartisan bill co-led with Senator Ernst was named one of the National Taxpayers’ Union’s “No Brainer” bills for 2021.
The bill would permanently raise the cap on child care tax savings accounts, which hasn’t been changed since 1986.
Axne said she and Senator Ernst wrote companion bills and they took the first step toward making this fix with the American Rescue Plan by raising it during the timeframe that people have been in COVID because they couldn’t spend the money, but she says now this should be expanded and be permanent.
Only ten “No Brainer” bills are named every year.
