(Iowa) Congresswoman Cindy Axne joined the picket lines of the UAW workers on Monday.
Axne said she wanted to make sure that the workers in Iowa know that she is there to support them. She said ‘They are the backbone of our economy and they certainly deserve pay and benefits that support a good middle-class life and retirement’.
Axne said these workers are helping these companies make record profits and they have been there on the front lines. She said ‘If these workers are considered essential workers for our country, then we need to make sure that we actually show them that we consider them essential and support their families and their needs’.
