(Washington, DC) Today, Congresswoman Cindy Axne introduced a new bill, the Meeting our Seniors’ Social Security Needs Act, to require the Social Security Administration to ensure they have staff answering their phone lines during business hours.
Axne said she has heard from hundreds of older Iowans that phone line is leaving them on hold for hours without the answers that they need.
This morning, Axne unveiled the Meeting our Senior’s Social Security Needs Act bill with representatives from the Alliance for Retired Americans and the Iowa Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
