(Atlantic) The Atlantic Parks and Recreation Department continues to discuss plans for the Sunnyside Pool.
Director Bryant Rasmussen told the Parks and Recreation Board Monday evening that the strategic planning meeting on October 4th showed that the plan with the most support was to keep the current outdoor facility and repair/upgrade the facility. He said two of the big upgrades he hears about the most is putting in pool heaters and shade features.
Rasmussen said he had a company come in and look at what it would take to put pool heaters back in and they gave him an estimate.
Rasmussen also got estimates to add in a significant number of umbrellas. He said these are the two things that he feels would be the most beneficial to look at first.
The Board said that they need to get together for another planning meeting for the pool.
The Board will set a date for another pool planning meeting during their regular meeting in November.
