(Griswold) Griswold Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs will present the certified enrollment report to the school board on Monday night.
Last month, Henrichs reported 79-students were opening enrolling out, the same as one year ago, and 22 students are open enrolling in, an increase of three students from the previous year. Henrichs says lack of a daycare facility is one reason for students’ open enrolling out.
A daycare committee reported last month; they’ve secured close to nine acres of land next to the school’s bus barn. The architectural drawings are complete for the estimated two-million-dollar facility, and the group is in the process of raising funds.
The goal is to start construction late this spring or early summer. Henrichs says moving forward, the group would like to partner with the school.
Henrichs says that when daycare becomes more accessible to the community, they hope to see the open enrollment numbers go down.
The Griswold school board will also consider the 2021-2022 school advisory improvement advisory, consider activating the early retirement policy, approve the 2021-2022 school board goals, consider a contract adjustment, and support bids to remove and replace some trees.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room.
