(Atlantic) Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber says the district is at a substantial completion at the High School athletic facility renovation project.
Barber says the architect and engineers will meet on Monday to run down a punch list and reach a point when the high school students and staff can utilize the facility.
In addition to that, on October 23, the U.S. Tennis Association will be on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new tennis courts at the high school. The USTA will present to the Atlantic School District $40,000.00 to construct the new tennis courts now in place.
“This is a wonderful tennis facility and will be the best in southwest Iowa,” said Barber. “The project also includes a new track, synthetic turf on the soccer field, and a new scoreboard. It’s pretty nice.”
The punch list completes the school’s athletic facilities renovation project at the Trojan Bowl, baseball/softball fields, and the high school track and soccer field. The project also includes the construction of the new tennis courts located north of the soccer field and track.
