(Anita) The CAM Cougars will be in action on the volleyball court Thursday night for a triangular with Woodbine and Griswold.
The team started 0-4 at the AHSTW tournament, but it didn’t take long to find their stride. A sweep of East Union last Tuesday kicked off a stretch that saw the squad win four out of five matches. Coach Jenna Maiers says, “We finally started coming to ether as a team. We are starting to get our rotation figured out and are trusting each other more so that really effected he rest of our game.”
Maiers admits the return of Mallory Behnken to the lineup has made a big difference. “Just having her on the floor made the girls a lot more comfortable. They are so used to having her on the court that not having her kind of threw everyone for a loop. Now that she’s back and we have a solid lineup in there I think we’ll be alright.”
The team went 3-1 at the Coon Rapids-Bayard Tourney on Saturday. Eva Steffensen leads CAM in kills with 40 and Mady McKee has 28. Breeanna Bower has 106 assists. Marissa Spieker tops the team in digs with 85.
