(Shelby) History will come alive this weekend (Sept. 11 & 12) at the 39th annual Carstens Farm Days near Shelby.
Mel Hursey, President of the Board, says the history of the farm goes back to 1880. The farm was passed down through the generations of the Carstens family until it was willed to the Pottawattamie County Historical Society.
After a year off due to COVID-19, the farmstead is ready to exhibit some living history.
Admission to Carstens Farm Days is $5 per day for everyone nine years and older.
The Board would like to remind visitors to not attend Farm Days if you are ill or feverish. Face coverings will not be required while at Carstens 1880 Farmstead; however, they support each visitor’s individual choice with regard to this matter.
