(Monticello, IA) — The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of an S-U-V died in an early morning crash Monday in Monticello.
The accident report says the Ford Explorer driven by a 44-year-old man went off the road into the ditch and rolled multiple times before hitting a utility pole and landing on its top. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown out of the S-U-V and died at the scene. A 42-year-old passenger was injured in the accident — a condition report was not given.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
