(Guthrie Center) ACGC senior Chloe Largent says the people at UNI and being able to stay close to home helped cement her decision to commit to the Panther volleyball program.
Largent picked UNI over a ton of other interest. She recalls her first recruiting letters coming from the likes of UCLA and West Virginia as a freshman, but the Panthers checked all the boxes. “I love the coaching staff and especially the girls and how they have such a close knit team there and just being able to stay close to home. I really wanted to go somewhere with a good, strong volleyball program and Bobbi Petersen the head coach is known for having a really strong program there.”
She was recruited from coast to coast, but the Panthers had a location advantage on several of the other potential suitors. “Being so close to home and having my family be able to come to the matches and being by some of my friends was a big upside for sure.”
She has a clear goal once she gets to the next level. “I think my biggest goal is becoming an All-American. I think that’s every college athlete’s goal, but also just playing and becoming the best person I can be on and off the court and being a six rotation player and helping the team out.”
Largent is a multi time all-state selection. She’s already surpassed 1,000 career kills.
