(Montgomery Co.) No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident in Montgomery County Friday morning.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened on Highway 34 on the west side of the Nishnabotna River bridge construction site at the signal light at 11:45 a.m. A 2020 Ford panel van, owned by Red Oak Greenhouse and driven by Jimmie Henry Kalkas of Red Oak, was stopped at the red light. A 2008 Mack box truck, owned by Red Oak Welding Supplies and driven by Jerry William Wagaman of Emerson, was coming up to the stop light but failed to stop before rear-ending the Ford van.
The Mack struck sustained an estimated $6,000 damage. The damage to the van was estimated at $6,500.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
