(Anita) Tonight, the CAM School Board is expected to discuss and possibly take action on the Facility Committee’s recommendation to house all Kindergarten – sixth-grade students at Massena and 7th-12th grade students at Anita.
The recommendation follows months of community meetings and a straw poll last month narrowing the public’s choice split between two options. The current recommendation or the second option, with elementary facilities in both Massena and Anita, and 7th – 12th-grade students at Anita.
CAM Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan stated last month; the goal is to decide on one option and move forward with a general obligation bond. The goal would be to have a bond issue election in November or March.
The discussion about improving the CAM School District facilities began before the COVID outbreak over a year and a half ago. The virus and all of the mitigation surrounding it halted talks for nearly a year.
In other businesses; the board will open sealed bids for disposal of excess vehicles, public input on the district’s return to learn plan, and discuss and take action on the district’s school board election process.
The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the CAM High School Superintendent’s Office.
