(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board approved the Middle School Classrooms Construction Plan for the Achievement Center at their meeting Wednesday evening.
The cost will be covered by the insurance policy as extra expenses due to the need to relocate because of fire damage to the Middle School. The School has received approval from the State’s Fire Inspector. Jerry Purdy did the architectural work, Randy Watts will be responsible for the mechanical work, Nathan Burg the electrical, and Allen Watts the carpentry work.

Barber said construction of the temporary classrooms at the Achievement Center is approximately 70% complete. First OnSite has begun delivering equipment and supplies that will equip the rooms with essential classroom equipment. A transportation plan has also been developed. Peter and Paul Catholic Church is willing to house the Home School Assistance Program. Barber is working with them to get an insurance document and a work agreement to ensure they have in writing who is responsible in certain situations. Offices have been painted in the achievement Center and carpet is in the works for these areas.

Middle School Principal Josh Rasmussen expressed gratitude for all of the support they have received not only from the community but also other principals and people from around the state following the fire. He said there are so many people working hard to get things done.
