(Anita) The Anita Fire Department and multiple agencies responded to a machine shed fire at 61424 765th Street late Thursday night. When they arrived, Anita Fire Chief Eric Steffenson tells KSOM/KS95 News; the structure was fully engulfed in flames. Steffenson called in mutual aid from Cumberland, Massena, Wiota, Bridgewater, and Fontanelle for tanker support. Steffensen says they got the blaze knocked down quickly.
Chief Steffensen says one and possibly two tractors, a vehicle, a side-by-side, and building materials were inside the shed. He says a car sitting nearby also received damage. The shed and contents are considered a total loss.
Anita Firemen were called out early this morning after wind from a brief storm knocked down a wall causing the fire to rekindle.
It is undetermined at this time what may have caused the fire.
