(Des Moines, IA) — A Des Moines man is pleading not guilty to the first-degree murder of a 15-month-old child.
Twenty-eight-year-old Brandon Greenup was caring for the toddler when his mother went to work and the boy was found unresponsive by family members on June 14th. Police said that Greenup was aware Tremir was having difficulty breathing and did not seek medical attention for the child. Family brought him to the hospital but he was already dead. An autopsy found Tremir’s body showed trauma consistent with inflicted injuries that would require immediate treatment.
Greenup’s trial is set for October 4th in Polk County.
