(Washington D.C.) According to the latest USDA crop condition report released on Monday afternoon, U.S. corn condition ratings dropped two percent, and the U.S soybean condition rating improved two percent from last week.
The corn condition dropped from 64-good to excellent to 62-percent good to excellent this past week.
Corn silking is at 91-percent, 12-percent higher than last week, the same as a year ago, and five percent ahead of the five-year average. The report showed 38-percent of the U.S. corn crop reached the dough stage, 20-percent higher than last week, one percent ahead of last year, and five percent ahead of the five-year average.
The U.S. soybean crop rating gained two percentage points this week. According to the USDA report, 60-percent of the nation’s soybeans are in good-to-excellent condition, compared to 58-percent one week ago.
Soybeans in the blooming stage reached 86-percent, 10-percent ahead of last week, two percent ahead of one year ago, and four percentage points ahead of the five-year average. 58-percent of the soybean crop is setting pods, 16-percent higher than last week, one percent ahead of last year, and six percent ahead of the five-year average.
The winter wheat harvest is at 91-percent complete, five percent ahead of the five-year average.
