(Glenwood) Harlan rolled to a 13-2 baseball win at Glenwood on Friday night. The Cyclones avenge a pair of regular season losses to the Rams and move on to face #3 Gilbert on the road on Monday.
Harlan tallied their 13 runs on 12 hits, five walks, and three Glenwood errors. They put up a pair of runs in the 1st, two in the 3rd, posted a four run 4th, added two in the 5th, and three in the 6th. Quinn Koesters, Luke Musich, Alex Monson, and Ben Muenchrath each had two hits. Isaiah Ahrenholtz ripped a two run double and Muenchrath also drove in a pair of runs.
Alex Monson picked up the win for the Cyclones on the mound. He gave up five hits, walked two, and struck out six in the six inning contest. Glenwood used three pitchers. Kayden Anderson threw the first four innings with seven hits allowed, one walk, and eight strikeouts. Five of the eight runs given up by Anderson were unearned. Jayme Fritts tossed the 5th inning. He gave up two hits, two walks, two unearned runs, and struck out one. Chase Rounds gave up three earned runs on three hits and two walks in the 6th inning.
Kayden Anderson, Austin Patton, Trent Patton, Jason Colpitts, and Nolan Little all singled for the Rams. Little posted the lone RBI when his base hit scored Colpitts in the 2nd.
Harlan takes a 16-15 record into the matchup at 22-8 Gilbert on Monday. 96.5 KSOM will air Monday’s game. Gilbert was a 9-0 winner against Perry on Friday. Glenwood’s season is over at 14-15.
