Ervin E. Moore, the son of Taul Amos and Catherine Charlene (Bears) Moore, was born January 2, 1949, in Maryville, MO. Ervin died July 13, 2021, at his home in Oakland, IA, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 11 days.
Ervin moved to Carson when he was eight. He attended school at Carson. Ervin worked at several different jobs including as a farm hand, at the Oakland Packing Plant, and Clarks Electric. He eventually began driving a truck over the road full time. After retiring from trucking, Ervin worked as a farm hand until failing health caused him to retire.
Ervin was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Macedonia and the American Saddle Bred Association. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, playing bingo, and attending his grandchildren’s events. Ervin especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Ervin is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson Kobe Moore; and his brother Ronald Moore.
He is survived by his daughters: Angela Fritz and husband Greg of Avoca, IA, Kristy Wichman and Jesse Winget of Oakland, IA; his son Kenneth Taul Moore and wife Jackie of Oakland, IA; his grandchildren: Kacie Schleis (Ryan), Taylor Vogel (Alan), Dillon Vogel (Chasity), Marissa Rose, Jacob Vogel, Keyton Wichman, Devyn Moore, Jami Carter/Moore, Mason Wichman, Nolan Moore, Taven Moore, Ava Fritz, Tatiana Casson, Nate Casson, Rilyn Moore, Silas Merrick, Tobias Childress, Annie Casson, Jacob Winget, and Isaiah Winget; his great grandchildren: Bowen Schleis, Lalia Schleis, Delilah Vogel, and Reid Schleis; his special friend Toni Casson and her children: Amanda (Eric), Johnny, and Jamie (Amy); and his siblings: Connie Slatley, Patricia Shipley and husband Marvin, Wayne Moore, David Moore and wife Rennee, and Dean Moore. Ervin is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Carson United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland.
