(Harlan) Harlan enters the postseason with a 15-15 record. The Cyclones will oppose a fellow .500 squad when they travel to play Glenwood on Friday. We’ll have the game on KSOM at 7:00 p.m.
The Rams have won 14 games including a pair against Harlan in a doubleheader on June 14th. Glenwood defended their home diamond with by scores of 3-1 and 7-6. Harlan’s final week of the regular season has included a 6-2 loss to Abraham Lincoln on Tuesday and an 18-6 triumph over Thomas Jefferson on Wednesday. Glenwood has lost to Carroll 10-8 and beat Sergeant Bluff-Luton 6-5 in the last week.
Alex Monson, Luke Musich, and Isaiah Ahrenholtz have been among the consistent producers for a Harlan team hitting .306 and averaging just under seven runs per game. Monson leads the team in batting average at .387 while Musich is hitting .371 and Ahrenholtz .370.
Monson, Teagon Kasperbauer, Franz Reisz have handled the bulk of the innings pitched for the Cyclones. Monson is 3-3 with a 3.00 ERA, Kasperbauer is 4-4 with a 3.44 ERA, and Reisz is 2-4 with a 2.77 ERA.
This is a Class 3A Substate 8 first round game. Glenwood is the 4-seed and Harlan is the 5-seed. The winner meets either Class 3A 3rd ranked Gilbert or Greene County on Monday.
