The Cougars win the six inning contest behind three hits from Joe Kauffman. Kauffman double twice while Ethan Follmann had a pair of singles. Eight different Cougars had a hit and four players finished two two RBI each including Kauffman, Follmann, Lane Spieker, and Connor McKee. Lane Spieker went 5 2/3 innings pitched with four hits allowed, one walk, and 10 K’s. He threw 88 pitches and Joe Kauffman got the final out with his 89th strikeout of the year. Spieker has fanned 90 batters on the season, each pitcher is in the top ten in Class 1A.
ACGC 5, Woodward-Granger 0
Brock Littler fired the one hit shutout. He walked five and struck out one. The Chargers set up a district final class with Van Meter. Newell Rogers had one of the team’s four hits and drove in two runs. Reid Rumelhart singled and had one RBI. Brock Littler and Miles Kading also had one hit apiece.
Lenox 4, Nodaway Valley 3
Keigan Kitzman delivered the big hit for Lenox with a three run double with two outs in the 3rd. Nodaway Valley had Mason Menefee, Mathew Weber, and Caelen Devault all with a single. Toby Bower doubled. Boston DeVault had a single, double, and two RBI. Keegan Christensen pitched the win allowing seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings. Caelen DeVault racked up seven K’s in three shutout innings of relief, finishing with a school record 84 for the season.
Logan-Magnolia 4, Audubon 3
The Wheelers finish the season at 10-17. Gavin Smith had two of their five hits including a triple and two RBI. Joel Klocke, Gavin Larsen, and Cooper Nielsen all had one single. Joel Klocke allowed ten hits, but held Lo-Ma to just one earned run in 5 1/3 innings. He gave up one walk and struck out one. Audubon took a brief 3-2 lead in the top of the 6th, but the Panthers got single tallies in the 6th and 7th for the comeback win.
St. Albert 13, Riverside 2
Wyatt Hough had a double and an RBI for Riverside. Eddie Vlcek and Kyler Rieken each singled. The Bulldogs posted seven wins this season.
