(Clarinda) A Page County man is in custody following a high-speed vehicle pursuit on July 1.
The Clarinda Police Department and deputies from the Page County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a high-speed vehicle pursuit that began on N. 12th Street and continued through northeast Page County and northwest Taylor County.
The pursuit began when a Clarinda Police Officer attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger for failure to display registration plates. Officers searched the area but didn’t locate the driver. The driver of the Charger failed to stop and led officers on a high-speed chase. The Charger driver lost control of the vehicle around 200th & Able Avenue in Taylor County and fled on foot.
On Thursday, July 8th, officers arrested Jeremy Leslie Williams, age 46, of Clarinda on a Page County arrest warrant to elude law enforcement officers and drive a motor vehicle while under license revocation. Williams was arrested at 7th & Washington Streets in Clarinda. Williams was arrested without incident and is being held at the Page County Jail on $3,000 bail.
Clarinda Police Officers were assisted by the Page County Sheriff’s Department and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department, and Page County Emergency Management with the pursuit.
