(Atlantic) Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber discussed the facilities project at the high school during “Trojan Talk,” which aired on KS95.7 FM on Friday. This phase includes new tennis courts, a new track, concession stand, synthetic turf, and new shot put and discus rings.
Barber says several factors are contributing to the slow progress.
Barber stated the project would be completed before the 2022 spring sports season.
Construction on Phase I of the project was completed in the summer of 2019, crews finished work at the newly renovated Trojan Bowl late last fall, and games are currently being played on the new baseball and softball fields as of June 15.
The $9.5 million bond issue passed in April 2019.
