(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley head football coach Duane Matthess has resigned. He spent one season with the Wolverines.
Matthess tells KSOM/KS95.7 Sports he has accepted a teaching and coaching position at Johnston. This means the Wolverines will enter the 2021 season with yet another new head coach. The program has gone from Steve Shantz to Taylor Ashman to Flynn Heald to Duane Matthess in consecutive seasons.
The district also has a wrestling vacancy after the recent resignation of Jesse McCann. Nodaway Valley has already made a pair of new hires for next year with Chase Green for girls cross country and Jeremy Blake for boys basketball.
