(Atlantic) The Iowa Department of Transportation continues work on a handful of projects in Southwest Iowa. Construction crews are working on Interstate 880, Highway 34, Highway 275 near Tabor, and Highway 59 between Avoca and Hancock.
District #4 Transportation Planner Scott Suhr reminds residents to use 511.org to view the latest construction projects year-round.
Meanwhile, construction continues on a bridge replacement project on Interstate 880 over Potato Creek. The contractor is currently removing the bridge deck. The completion date on this project is slated for December 1.
Construction crews are milling and will resurface a section of Highway 275 from Tabor north to Highway 34. The overlay is scheduled for next week. Flaggers and a pilot car are being used to control traffic.
A bridge replacement project is ongoing on Highway 34 over Douglas Creek.
Suhr says the culvert installation project on Highway 59 between Avoca and Hancock continues but should be completed in the next two weeks. A resurfacing project on Highway 59 to Avoca will follow the bridge replacement project. Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic.
