(Atlantic) Cass County Emergency Management Director Mike Kennon told the Supervisors Tuesday that the state is changing contract for their Alert Iowa system and beginning July 1st anyone who was signed up to receive weather warnings and other emergency alerts will need to re-register.
Kennon will soon be releasing more information on the changes and how to sign up.
Mike Kennon also spoke to the Board about the American Rescue Plan funds and mentioned that one of the uses of the money that is listed is to provide premium pay for essential workers. Kennon felt he needed to advocate for the dispatchers that were at work every day through the pandemic.
The Supervisors mentioned that there are a lot of specifics that they need to look into with the American Rescue Plan funding before any decisions are made.
