(Elk Horn) This week the Exira-EHK School Board approved a bid of $81,000 for Chromebooks.
2nd through 5th grade students will get new Chromebooks with a touch screen. “In case we end up going back to remote they will have different options and better material.” Superintendent Trevor Miller says, “That’ll be great to have, it’s a great opportunity for our students. Hopefully they will be here by the start of the year. They were the best bid of the three that were sent to us.”
The District approved their fees for 2021-22 and kept them all the same as last year. Along with that came a discussion on Driver’s Ed. “It’s a matter of what’s best for us as a district to keep offering it or just out source it. All the rest of the fees, with everyone going through Covid, we are just leaving them the same.”
Miller recognized School Board Month and Teacher Recognition Week which was May 3rd-7th. “Students and staff both are just needing a break because this year has been a stressful year and they’ve went above and beyond and worked hared and really done what’s best for our students.”
Mallory Meyer was approved as Treasurer. New teaching highs include: Ana Belen Munoz Martin (Spanish), Amelia Teegerstrom (Prom Sponsor), Vandy Mosier (HS Social Studies), Taylor West (1st Grade), Ryan Gaumer (4th Grade). Amanda Nelson was approved as a School Based Interventionist.
