(Cedar Falls) Spencer Brown is headed to the National Football League. The University of Northern Iowa senior was selected with the 30th pick in the third round of NFL Draft (#93 overall) by the Buffalo Bills.
Brown was listed at 6’8″ and 240 pounds as high school senior for Lenox. He played tight end and defensive end at the 8-player level. In his final year with the Tigers he caught 24 passes for 388 yards and 7 TD’s. Defensively he had 67 tackles including 17 sacks for a Tiger squad that went 11-1. He was also an all-state basketball selection, averaging 22.8 points and 19.9 rebounds per game in Lenox’s 20-3 campaign in 2015-16. With UNI he bulked up to over 300 pounds and became an all-conference offensive lineman.
Brown opted out of the Panther’s spring season in order to prepare for the NFL Draft.
