(Atlantic) Atlantic Parks and Recreation is finalizing a way for people to reserve recreational items online.
Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen told the Park Board Monday night that the reservations will be done in the same way that they are doing their shelter reservations online.
Rasmussen said as soon as the online reservation system is up and going they will put out an announcement on their Facebook page.
Rasmussen also noted that they updated the Schildberg Recreation Area campground kiosk and changed some of the wording on the signage.
Rasmussen said this is to eliminate a lot of the running back and forth from the campground and City Hall to make sure the spot is actually paid for. They also updated the kiosks with information on the recreational items Atlantic Parks and Recreation has to offer.
In other news, Rasmussen said they are ironing out some dates for their summer programs. He said they are hoping to do everything they have done in the past. Some of the possible programs include Art in the Park, Slow Pitch Softball, Pickleball, Jazzercise, Swim Team, Tennis, Rec Games Day, and the Block Party.
And, Rasmussen said their Easter Egg Cruise went really well. He said they had 111 decorated eggs that lined the Sunnyside Park and they received 165 votes. The winning egg was Atlantic Trojan themed. Rasmussen said this is something they will talk to the Chamber about to see if they can coordinate another event with them next year.
