(Creston) Two people were transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident in Union County Thursday.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Rose Pumel, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango at 230th and Jaguar Avenue at approximately 6:27 a.m. when she fell asleep at the wheel. The Durango went into the ditch, drove over a culvert and crashed into the other side causing heavy front end damage. The Durango also went into a barbwire fence before rolling backwards and coming to rest in the ditch.
Pumel and a passenger, 43-year-old Jerome McCallum of Kellerton, Iowa, were both transported to the Greater Regional Medical Center by Medic 1.
