(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors held another discussion on a Solar Panel Ordinance at their meeting Wednesday.
County Attorney Melissa Larson presented the board with a draft decommissioning plan, a draft road use agreement, and a draft ordinance for the Supervisors to review.
Larson read the motion made by Supervisor Matt Wedemeyer to change some of the language in the draft ordinance.
Larson noted that this ordinance would exclude small scale solar panels or technologies installed at individual, residential or commercial locations that are used exclusively for private purposes and not utilized for any commercial resale of energy except for the sale of surplus electrical energy back to the electrical grid.
Supervisor Jodie Hoadley said she believes they also need a cap on the number of solar farms in the county.
Hoadley made a motion that they have a 400 acre cap on solar panels in the County. That motion passed 3-2.
The Supervisors plan to have more discussion on the solar panel ordinance and once all of the changes are made and published they will set a date for a public hearing.
