(Creston) The Atlantic girls track team won 10 events and captured the Lady Panthers Relays’ team title at Creston on Monday.
The Trojans piled up 198 points, Clarke finished second with 126.00, Creston third, 79, Martensdale-St. Mary’s fourth, 71, Stanton fifth, 57, and Council Bluffs, Thomas Jefferson finished sixth with 8.00 points.
Haley Rasmussen won the 100 meters in (13.26) and the 400 meters in a time of (1:05.50). Ava Rush topped the field in the 800 in a time of (2:33.83), Taylor McCreedy clocked a (5:25.14) in the 1500 meters for first place, Addie DeArment won the 3000 meters in a time of (12:42.13), and Nicole Middents cleared (4-10) and won the high jump. The Trojans had a solid performance in the relays, winning the 4×400 (4:28.86), 4×800 (10:49.96), 800-Sprint Medley (2:01.69), and the Distance Medley in a time of (4:46.44).
Atlantic finished second in six other events. Rasmussen in the 200-meters (27.59), and the Long Jump (15-00.00), Chloe Mullenix in the 400-meter hurdles (1:14.55), and Abbi Richter in the Shot Put (31.3.50). The Trojans also finished runner-up in the 4×200 meter and Shuttle Hurdle Relays.
The Trojans scored four third-place finishes, Kennedy Goergen in the 400 meters (1:10.31), Claire Pellett in the 800 meters (2:39.04), Maddie Botos, 1500-meters, (5:58.69), Caroline Pellett in the 100-meter hurdles (17.73), and Abbi Richter in the Discus (89-09).
Kelsey Fields earned gold in the Shot Put (43-11.50) and Discus (122-01) for Creston. Additionally, the Panthers won the 4×200 meter relay (2:00.33), second in the 4×400, (4:40.69), and 4×800 (11:05.76). Paige Davis also finished runner-up in the 800-meters (2:38.11) and 1500 (5:38.85).
The top finishers for Stanton included; Carly Roberts, second in the 1500-meters (13:03.21), Distance Medley Relay (5:30.31), Tara Peterson, third in the 100-meters, (13.74), third in the 4×200 meter and 800-Sprint Medley relays, Elly MacDonald fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, 19.35, and Roberts fourth in the 1500-meters, (6:07.78).
