(Adair) The Adair County Courthouse is on track to re-open soon. With that, Supervisors meeting will become open to the public as well.
On Wednesday the Adair County Board of Supervisors held a follow-up to their discussion last week on opening the courthouse April 5th. “With that discussion last week they had also had decided to keep the board meetings by conference call only. After last week our County Attorney had gotten word of that and she submitted a letter to the board stating she believed as long as the Governor’s proclamation is not specific that she believed the board should open up their meetings again.” Auditor Mandy Berg says board discussed it and agreed to re-open their meetings. This will be effective beginning with the April 14th meeting.
Elsewhere, County Engineer Nick Kauffman presented some updates to the board. “He approved a new hire. Luke Meisenheimer will be starting on April 12th. He’s going to be a secondary roads equipment operator/laborer. He had two wage rate progressions for Brad Cooper and Dustin Ford.”
Berg says County Attorney Melissa Larson discussed a Solar Panel Ordinance. The board discussed what they would like to see included. “Any solar panel should be 500 feet from any dwelling unit regardless of project participation, 500 feet from a property line of a parcel less than ten acres of a non-participating parcel, 200 feet of a property line of a larger non-participating parcel, 50 feet from a road right of way, radius of 150 feet from a road right of way at intersections from the center of the road, and they want to see panels have native grass or other manageable vegetation under them.” Larson will return with a draft of an ordinance at the April 14th meeting.
