(Sioux City) Morningside is moving on to the NAIA Elite 8. The 7th rated Mustang women came through with a 53-42 win over #16 St. Francis on Friday night.
Exira-EHK alum Sophia Peppers led the way with 16 points on 7/11 shooting. She had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
Morningside improves to 28-2 overall and has won 22 consecutive games. Next up is Concordia on Saturday night in a quarterfinal at 8:00 p.m. Concordia (Nebraska) is a #13 seed that upset 4th seeded Marion (Indiana).
Morningside has defeated 17th ranked Concordia three times so far this season including a 67-65 score in the GPAC Finals on March 2nd.
