(Des Moines) The average price of unleaded gasoline rose again this week.
According to AAA, as of March 10, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa averaged $2.79 per gallon. This is 05-cents higher than last week and 59-cents higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $2.82, up 08-cents from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 11 cents this week, with a statewide average of $3.06. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.61 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 3 cents more than the national average of $3.03. Wholesale ethanol rose 1 cent and is currently priced at $1.79. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.99 for U87-E10, $2.26 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.26 for ULSD#2, $2.41 for ULSD#1, and $1.94 per gallon for E-70 prices.
This week’s price of global crude oil rose on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $1.87 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $63.67. Brent crude oil rose $2.84 and is currently priced at $67.29. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $34.36, and Brent crude was at $35.57.
Propane prices fell 23 cents with a statewide average of $1.76 per gallon. Home heating oil rose 9 cents from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.63 per gallon. Natural gas prices fell 16 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.67/MMBtu.
