(Audubon) The Audubon girls golf roster will be made up of four players and two are new to the sport.
Wheeler head coach Paul Lynch says senior Sydney Beymer brings back the most experience on the team. “She’s a returning letter winner and will be a senior this year. She’s kind of a solid mid-50’s scorer for us, but I think she so easily could be in the low 50’s and high 40’s more consistently, so that will be a good goal for her.”
Allison Elmquist is the only other team member that has competed at the high school level. “She was a freshman two years ago and broke into the varsity lineup. I thought it might take a little longer, but she broke in quicker than I anticipated which was awesome. She’s kind of a mid-60’s shooter for us right now and will be looking to improve her score.”
Madison Vorm and Kali Irlmeier will round out the team. Practice starts Monday. “We are going to be hammering fundamentals. We do a lot of short game work and swing mechanics and trying to be consistent. Those fundamentals you can never really practice those enough and we do a fair share of short game work.”
