Nancy (Swope) Christensen of Englewood, Florida, daughter of Dolores and Dean Swope of Lewis, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1965 and attended Commercial Extension School of Business where she majored in Medical Secretarial. In September 1966 she married Herb Christensen at the Oakland Methodist Church. Her life’s journey took her to Florida in 1998 and has resided there until her passing. Nancy’s many talents included quilting, tole painting and machine embroidery. She was a 55 year member of Order of Eastern Star, serving Iowa Grand Chapter as a District Instructor for several years.
She is survived by her friend Tim Krebs of Englewood, Florida, her mother Dolores Swope of Lewis, Iowa, her children Geoff (Wendy)Christensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kimberly (Bill) Murphy of Colorado, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grand children.
Sisters Jolene Swope ,Papillion, Nebraska, LaDean Swope, Omaha, Nebraska, Claudia (Scott)Smith, Urbandale, Iowa, Darcey Swope, LaVista, Nebraska. Brother Chuck (Donnell)Swope, Shelby, Iowa. As well as 2 nieces and 4 nephews 1 great niece and 2 great nephews.
Stepchildren Mandy(Stephen)Mitchell of Tampa, Florida and Clay (Laura) Krebs of Plantation, Florida, 4 grandchildren
Her father, Dean of Lewis, Iowa, proceeded her in death and went ahead to make a path for her.
