(Red Oak) The Red Oak City Council approved the fiscal year 2022 budget.
City Administrator Brad Wright says the council held the first of two public hearings on the proposed budget on Tuesday. The City Council then approved the proposed budget and set a date for a final public hearing.
Wright says the levy is going from $18.68 per one thousand dollars of valuation to $18.70. Wright says that equates to a $1,500.00 increase in a $2.7 million General Fund budget.
Wright says as far as the Road Use Tax Fund, the City has a street project going out for bid on February 23.
The street project is bid jointly with a Clarinda street project in an attempt to save money.
