(Sioux City) Luke Freund, Luke Musich, and Jesse Schwery will represent Harlan in Des Moines next week. The trio move on to the state wrestling tournament out of Saturday’s District Tourney at Bishop Heelan.
All three placed 2nd to punch their ticket. Freund was the runner-up at 113. He earned 9-7 decision over West Lyon’s Zac Severson before falling to Sheldon/South O’Brien’s Osvaldo Ocampo 9-5 in the finals. Musich lost in overtime in the finals to Ty Koedam (Sergeant Bluff-Luton) at 126. His semifinal win was a 5-4 gut wrencher over Sir Brandon Watts, of Bishop Heelan. Jesse Schwery won 6-3 over West Lyon’s Gabe Ter Wee before falling in the finals 7-4 against Central Lyon GLR’s Josh Riibe.
