LaVerne Eugene Schmidt passed away on February 11, 2021 at age 93 in Fontanelle, Iowa.
He is survived by his sister, Rae Jean Murphy (Frank) of Greenfield, daughter Christine Schmidt Savage (Bob), of Blacksburg, Virginia, son David Schmidt of Grain Valley, Missouri, son-in-law Wes Peterson of Breckenridge, Missouri, grandsons Scott Peterson (Natalie), Jay Peterson (Lindsay), Benjamin Savage, and Brian Savage, great-grandchildren Jackson Peterson and Jillian Peterson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
