(Audubon) The City of Audubon has set the ball in motion to begin charging for fire service calls.
City Clerk Joe Foran tells KSOM/KS95.7 News the city council addressed the matter at their meeting on Monday. “The council instructed the city attorney to create an ordinance and for me to create a resolution setting up a fee schedule and policy for the fire department to charge for certain service calls.”
Foran says this is not uncommon for cities to charge. “Other cities do this. The cost of equipment is going up and up and up. This is to offset some of those costs so we can still provide adequate services.”
Different services will have different fees depending on how intensive they are.
