(Audubon) Audubon topped CAM in a good non-conference girls basketball matchup on Saturday, 56-51. The Wheelers got 27 points and 10 rebounds from Jaci Christensen while Aleah Hermansen scored 14 to run her career total to 1,009.
It was tight matchup all the way. CAM scored the first five points of the game and Audubon tied it up with five in a row of their own. From that point on, neither team led by more than five until the final few minutes. In fact, a margin more than three points was extremely rare. CAM scored the opening basket of the 2nd quarter to lead 17-13, but after that there were level lead changes.
CAM led 42-41 early in the 4th, but Audubon got a bucket to go in front and then scored five quick points. The Wheelers stretched the lad to 48-42 and never trailed the rest of the way.
Christensen carried the Wheeler offense in the 3rd quarter and ultimately scored 19 of her 17 after halftime. CAM was led by 10 points from Reese Snyder while Zoey Baylor had 9.
Audubon improves to 13-7 with a season long five game win streak. The Wheelers shot 37.7% from the field. They were 4/19 from 3-point range and 12/23 at the line. CAM is 14-6.
