(Greenfield) This week, the Greenfield City Council voted to amend a parking ordinance to accommodate truck traffic on SE. 5th Street at the Casey’s General Store entrance.
Greenfield City Clerk Becky Haase says trucks wanting to turn into the Casey’s Store can’t maneuver around the vehicles parked along the street. “The only way to make traffic flow is to eliminate parking near the entrance so trucks can make the turn,” explained Haase.
The ordinance prohibits parking on the west side of the street from the Highway to the alley. The Council approved the new ordinance on the first reading and waved the second and third readings. The ordinance takes effect on February 10th.
