(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley defeated SE Warren Friday night 57-29 for the 500th win in program history.
Co-head coach Darrell Burmeister reports it all started in 1994-1995 with the beginning of the Bridgewater-Fontanelle/Greenfield High School whole grade sharing program and the first season of Nodaway Valley Wolverine Boys Basketball. In the year 2000 the two schools consolidated.
Now in the 27th season as Nodaway Valley, the Wolverines are 500-128. Burmeister says, “Making it even more special, longtime scorebook keeper Sandra Stewart of Fontanelle and longtime Board Secretary of both schools, received the IHSAA Service Award for her countless hours of service. Sandra was the scorekeeper at all of the six Nodaway Valleys state basketball appearances.
Many parents, players, and assistant coaches have been vital to the success of our program over the years.”
