(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley’s Maddax DeVault scored a career high 40 points Thursday night in a Wolverine 84-58 win against Bedford.
The 40 points is a new Nodaway Valley record and it sent her past 1,000 career points. The previous single game scoring record for the Wolverines was 36 points held by Mallory Menefee since February 5th, 2006. DeVault also breaks a record for field goals made with 15. Paige McElfish had the previous single game field goals made record with 14 on January 6th, 2016.
DeVault’s career scoring total is now at 1,032. That includes 263 points in her freshman year, 417 as a sophomore, and 352 thus far in her junior season. She entered Thursday’s game averaging 22.3 points per game on the season which is 7th best in Class 2A.
Nodaway Valley, which moved up to #4 in this week’s Class 2A rankings, is 15-0 on the season.
