(Harlan) In boys basketball on KSOM Friday night Harlan hosts Creston.
Harlan coach Mitch Osborn says Creston has done a great job considering they are without two of their best players Brance Baker and Cael Kralik. “These guys have come a long ways. They are competing and doing a great job. I think they are 7-5 and just had a great game against Atlantic at Atlantic.” Osborn says, “They are doing a great job after losing two great players.”
The Panthers are led by Colby Burg averaging 17.5 points per game. The Cyclones are 5-7 overall. “I think the biggest thing is we have to get offensive consistency. Defensively we are playing pretty good defense and rebounding well. It just comes down to the offensive end of the floor. We saw glimpses of it against Boys Town.”
They are optimistic senior guard Michael Erlmeier can return from an injury which would provide a big lift in a lot of ways. In the meantime, players like Brad Curren and Connor Frame have expanded their roles. Frame scored 25 in the team’s last outing.
Coach Osborn says he’s confident the team is close to putting it all together and notes they continue to practice hard each day.
