(Atlantic) Snow is piled high in Cities across the southwest and Central Iowa. The winter storm dropped 9.5 inches of snow in the Atlantic area. The snowfall started mid-afternoon on Monday and lasted through the overnight hours into Tuesday. The heaviest amounts fell during the evening hours on Monday.
Atlantic Streets Superintendent Kirk Knudsen said crews plowed city streets three times on Monday to stay ahead of the storm. He says crews fired up the engines again early this morning. He said the biggest challenge is finding a place to put it following the snow event two weeks ago.
